How do you decide which Etsy listings to fix first?
You can do a rough version by hand, and it is worth knowing even if you never use a tool:
- In Shop Manager, open Stats and see which listings get views and which get almost none.
- Listings with views but few orders have a click or conversion problem. Look at the first photo, the opening words of the title, and the price as it appears in search.
- Listings with almost no views have a search problem. Look at the title opening and the 13 tags.
- Fix the listings that are close first: a good product held back by a weak title, weak tags, or a weak first photo. Leave listings that get neither views nor interest after a fix for last; that may be a product question, not an SEO one.
This works. At 150 listings it is also slow, and that is the part the audit replaces.
What the ranked fix list looks like
Each item names the listing, the problem, and the change to make, with the fixes that should matter most at the top. You work down the list at whatever pace you can keep, make each change in Etsy yourself, and rescan to see your score move.
What does the audit check?
- Titles: whether the opening words say what the item is, wasted or repeated words, and phrases too broad to win a search.
- Tags: empty slots out of the 13 Etsy gives you, single broad words where a phrase would match real searches, and near-duplicates.
- Photos: how many you use, whether there is a video, whether the first photo has a description (alt text), and how your first photo holds up as a thumbnail.
- Descriptions: whether there is enough for a buyer to decide, and whether it is broken up enough to read.
- Pricing signals: a few common patterns, like digital products priced below what the category supports.
Every finding comes with the specific change to make. On the Growth and Pro plans it also comes with a ready-to-paste rewrite. One scan covers up to 100 listings; for a shop with 100 active listings or fewer, that is all of them.
What the ranking is built on
Etsy's own published rules, not guesses. Titles can be up to 140 characters (Etsy Help Center). You get 13 tags of up to 20 characters each, and Etsy suggests short descriptive phrases and a diverse array of tags (Etsy Help Center). Etsy's 2025 title guidance says to state what the item is and put the most important traits first, and that search now reads the listing as a whole: title, tags, attributes, description, first photo, and reviews (Seller Handbook).

How many listings should I fix per week?
Etsy publishes no number for this. In our view a pace you can keep, such as five to ten listings a week from the top of the ranked list, beats a weekend rewrite you never finish.
Can ElisaRank edit my listings for me?
