Etsy Fee Calculator (2026)
Enter a sale below and this free calculator applies Etsy's current published fees: the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee on item plus shipping, your country's payment processing fee (US default: 3% + $0.25), and the optional Offsite Ads fee. It runs entirely in your browser.
US processing rates are prefilled; other countries differ (the UK, for example, uses 4% plus a fixed fee in GBP). Edit the two processing fields to match Etsy's fee policy for your country. VAT/sales tax on fees is not included.

What does Etsy actually take from a $29.40 order?
Worked example with the calculator's defaults: item $24.90 plus $4.50 shipping, US processing, no ads. Listing fee $0.20; transaction fee 6.5% of $29.40 = $1.91; processing 3% of $29.40 + $0.25 = $1.13. Total fees $3.24, about 11% of the order. The same order through Offsite Ads at 15% adds $4.41, taking the total to $7.65, about 26%. That difference is why margin math belongs in your pricing, not in your reaction to the deposit.
Why your deposit is smaller than the sale price
Etsy deducts fees from your payment account as they occur, so the deposit you see is the order total minus listing, transaction, and processing fees, minus any ads fees, taxes on fees, and refunds. If a deposit looks wrong, open your payment account CSV and match each line against the table above before assuming an error; in most cases the surprise line is an Offsite Ads attribution.
FAQ
How much does Etsy take from a sale in 2026?
Three fees apply to every sale: the $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and a payment processing fee that varies by country (3% + $0.25 in the US). If the order came through Offsite Ads, an extra 12% or 15% applies, capped at $100 per order. For a typical US sale with no ads, Etsy takes roughly 9.5% plus $0.45.
What is the Etsy transaction fee?
It is 6.5% of the total amount the buyer pays for the item, including shipping and gift wrap, in your listing currency. It is charged on every sale and appears in your payment account.
What is the Offsite Ads fee?
When a buyer clicks an Etsy-run ad on Google, Facebook, and similar platforms and buys within 30 days, Etsy charges an Offsite Ads fee on that order: 15% for most shops, 12% for shops that made over $10,000 USD in the trailing 365 days (who also cannot opt out). The fee is capped at $100 per order.
Does this calculator see my Etsy account?
No. It runs entirely in your browser using the fee rates published in Etsy's fee policy. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
