I did the keyword research. My Etsy listings still don't sell.
Keywords decide whether you show up. What happens next is decided by your first photo, the opening words of your title, and how your listing looks next to its neighbors in search. Type your Etsy shop name. ElisaRank checks your listings' titles, tags, photos, and descriptions, ranks what is costing you sales, and tells you exactly what to change. No Etsy password, and nothing in your shop changes unless you change it.
It starts by showing you one real fix from one of your own listings. The full fix list is on a paid plan.
Keyword tools such as eRank, Marmalead, and Sale Samurai are good at the first half of the job: finding what buyers type. They report data. They do not look at whether your listing turns a search into a click.
Why do Etsy listings with good keywords still not sell?
- The first photo loses the row. Buyers compare your square thumbnail with the listings around it before they read a word of your title.
- The keywords are there, but not in the order buyers read. Etsy's own title guidance is to state what the item is and put the most important traits first (Seller Handbook).
- The keywords are too broad to win. A single word like print competes with everyone. A specific phrase faces far fewer listings and matches buyers who know what they want.
- Tags repeat the title instead of adding to it. Etsy's tag guidance is to use up to 13 tags as short descriptive phrases, with a diverse array of them (Etsy Help Center). Empty or duplicated slots are searches you gave away.
- The listing is fine and the demand is not there. Search volume does not guarantee buyers at your price. That is a product question, and no audit fixes it.
Is it a search problem or a click problem?
Open Stats in Shop Manager. Listings with almost no views have a search problem: the title opening and the tags. Listings with views but few orders have a click or conversion problem: the first photo, the title opening, the price, and the description. Our guide to Etsy views but no sales walks through the second case in detail.
What does the audit check?
- Titles: whether the opening words say what the item is, wasted or repeated words, and phrases too broad to win a search.
- Tags: empty slots out of the 13 Etsy gives you, single broad words where a phrase would match real searches, and near-duplicates.
- Photos: how many you use, whether there is a video, whether the first photo has a description (alt text), and how your first photo holds up as a thumbnail.
- Descriptions: whether there is enough for a buyer to decide, and whether it is broken up enough to read.
- Pricing signals: a few common patterns, like digital products priced below what the category supports.
Every finding comes with the specific change to make. On the Growth and Pro plans it also comes with a ready-to-paste rewrite. One scan covers up to 100 listings; for a shop with 100 active listings or fewer, that is all of them.
What the ranking is built on
Etsy's own published rules, not guesses. Titles can be up to 140 characters (Etsy Help Center). You get 13 tags of up to 20 characters each, and Etsy suggests short descriptive phrases and a diverse array of tags (Etsy Help Center). Etsy's 2025 title guidance says to state what the item is and put the most important traits first, and that search now reads the listing as a whole: title, tags, attributes, description, first photo, and reviews (Seller Handbook).
What no tool can tell you is Etsy's exact ranking weights. Etsy does not publish them, so any tool that claims to know them precisely is guessing. ElisaRank ranks fixes by expected impact, which is a judgment built on the published rules, and we say so.
How it works
- Type your shop name or paste your shop link. Your listings are public, so no Etsy login is needed.
- Answer a few quick questions so the results are framed around what you are trying to fix.
- See one real fix from one of your own listings, before any payment.
- Pick a plan to unlock the full fix list, ranked by expected impact. Make the changes in Etsy yourself, rescan, and watch your score move.
Who this is not for
- You have not opened your shop yet and want to find a product to sell. EverBee and Sale Samurai are built for that research (ElisaRank vs EverBee, vs Sale Samurai).
- You want the biggest keyword database and a free tier. eRank is the better pick for that (ElisaRank vs eRank).
- You sell on Amazon, Shopify, or your own site. ElisaRank only reads Etsy shops.
Keep your keyword tool?
There is no need to drop it. A research tool and an audit do different jobs. Many sellers keep a keyword tool for finding phrases and use an audit to check whether their listings use them well. ElisaRank includes keyword research too, but that is not the reason to use it.
FAQ
Should I stop using eRank or my keyword tool?
Not necessarily. Research tools find phrases; an audit checks whether your listings use them well and whether the photo and title win the click. They do different jobs.
Does ElisaRank do keyword research too?
Yes, keyword research is included on every plan. The main job, though, is the shop audit: a ranked list of changes for the listings you already have.
Can the audit tell me whether there is demand for my product?
Not directly. It checks how well your listings are built. For demand and product research before you list, EverBee and Sale Samurai are built for that.
Do I need to give ElisaRank my Etsy password?
No. ElisaRank reads the public listings any buyer can see. There is no Etsy login and no shop connection, and nothing in your shop changes unless you change it yourself.
Is ElisaRank the same as eRank?
No. ElisaRank is a separate, independent tool. It is not eRank and is not affiliated with eRank or with Etsy, Inc.
