What the ranking is built on

Etsy's own published rules, not guesses. Titles can be up to 140 characters (Etsy Help Center). You get 13 tags of up to 20 characters each, and Etsy suggests short descriptive phrases and a diverse array of tags (Etsy Help Center). Etsy's 2025 title guidance says to state what the item is and put the most important traits first, and that search now reads the listing as a whole: title, tags, attributes, description, first photo, and reviews (Seller Handbook).
